This is the photo of the week.
When they say a picture is worth a thousand words, they probably mean this picture of a solitary man sitting in the arena, wearing a mask while exercising extreme social distancing in President Donald Trump’s much-hyped rally in Tulsa, Ok.
The rally was a major embarrassment for Trump and his supporters.
Before the rally, the Trump campaign boasted more than 1 million people had reserved tickets to attend the rally in the 19,000-seat BOK Arena.
Tulsa Fire marshall reported only 6200 people attended, a miss of more than 985,000 of the expected attendees.
Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale hyped the rally and promised a capacity attendance stemming from 1 million reservations. Had they pulled it off, it would have marked a major fete congregating more than the population of the city.
According to the US Census Bureau, Tulsa County has a population of approximately 650,000.
It was a spectacular failure, leaving Parscale scrambling for scapegoats and found a few favs– radical protestors and the Antifa types.
“Radical protestors, fueled by a week of apocalyptic media coverage, interfered with za class=”css-4rbku5 css-18t94o4 css-901oao css-16my406 r-1n1174f r-1loqt21 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0″ dir=”ltr” role=”link” href=”https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump” data-focusable=”true”>@realDonaldTrump supporters at the rally, Parscale said in a tweet. “They even blocked access to the metal detectors, preventing people from entering. Thanks to the 1,000s who made it anyway!”
Media reports dispute Parscale’s explanation for his failure and are offering that maybe he is not very good at his job because the high numbers and data haul he was bragging about before the rally were trolls, some who made hundreds of reservations to sabotage the rally.
It’s also ironic that Parscale does not consider other possibilities of the poor turnout such as– Trump is losing support from his base or people are not so stupid after all to attend a packed rally inside an indoor arena, in the middle of a pandemic
Hashtags mocking Trump’s failed rally are trending on Twitter. #walkofshame and #Tulsaflop are now trending on Twitter, with videos of Trump arriving back to Washington from the Tulsa rally looking defeated.
Any moment now, we expect Trump critics ate Lincoln Project to cut an advertisement giggling what a flop the Trump rally in Tulsa was. We will post the ad as soon as it drops.
Update: as expected The Lincoln Project just dropped an ad lambasting Trump’s failed rally. Here is “Shrinking,” a biting anti-Trump ad from The Lincoln Project.
