A packed Kasarani Stadium awaits the inauguration of William Sammie Ruto as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya.
Deputy President Elect Rigathi Gachagua arrives at Kasarani Stadium to a rousing welcome from the capacity crowd. Speaking to the media early, Gachagua said him and President-elect William Ruto have a working plan and they’ll not have a falling out as Ruto did with President Uhuru Kenyatta. He also dismissed news that Azimio leader Raila Odinga declined to attend the inauguration ceremony.
President Uhuru Kenyatta arrive at Kasarani Stadium for his last moment as President of the Republic of Kenya. He arrived in his ceremonial car Commander in Chief automobile to a muted stadium that was polite but not warm.
