Autopsy of Rita Waeni Reveals Disturbing Details
The grisly murder of 20-year-old university student Rita Waeni has taken a shocking turn, with Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor revealing the extent of the brutality inflicted on her body. Speaking to journalists after conducting a post-mortem examination on Friday, Dr. Oduor described the case as unlike anything he has encountered in his long career.
Waeni’s dismembered remains were discovered last Sunday at an apartment in Roysambu, sending shockwaves through the nation. The post-mortem unveiled disturbing details of the attack, painting a picture of extreme violence and premeditation.
“This is the first time I have come across such an incident,” Dr. Oduor declared, visibly shaken. “The level of savagery is unlike anything I have seen in my forensic life.”
He elaborated, describing the meticulous dismemberment: “The killer clearly knew what they were doing. While the skin appears cut by a sharp object, the bones were expertly sawed off, likely with a hacksaw.”
Adding to the horror, Dr. Oduor revealed that the perpetrator attempted to remove Waeni’s fingernails, possibly to obliterate DNA evidence. He explained that in violent crimes, struggle often leads to an exchange of biological material between victim and attacker.

Unfortunately, Waeni’s head remains missing, further complicating the investigation. Moreover, the severity of the mutilation makes it difficult to ascertain the cause of death definitively.
“There was significant desecration of the body,” Dr. Oduor confirmed. “The femur was cleanly severed, separating the legs from the torso. We believe she also lost a significant amount of blood, though whether before or after death is unclear.”
