Africa has produced some of the most entertaining and exciting female musicians in the world, each with their unique style, voice, and personality. Here are some of the top female musicians in Africa whose music have stood the test of time and continue to rule the airwaves even after some of them are gone.
NOTE: This is not a ranking, (It’s impossible to rank such talent and we won’t even try) but a celebration of Africa’s rich music, along with examples of their best hits.
Zuchu (Tanzania)
Zuhura Othman Soud, popularly known as Zuchu, is a Bongo Flava artist who has taken the industry by storm with her beautiful voice, unique style, and excellent songwriting skills. She is the first female artist signed to WCB Wasafi, a Tanzanian record label owned by Diamond Platnumz, one of the biggest artists in East Africa.
